Effective August 27, 2026
Coin Scanner AI ("the app", "we", "us") identifies coins from photos you take or choose. This policy explains what data the app handles and why. The app does not require an account, sign-in, or any personal profile.
When you scan a coin, the photo(s) you capture or select are sent to our server, which forwards them to a third-party AI vision service solely to produce an identification result. This may include AI providers located outside your country or region (for example, in mainland China). We do not store your photos on our servers — they exist only for the duration of that single request and are then discarded. The third-party AI provider processes the image under its own data handling policy in order to return a result to us.
The app generates a random identifier on your device (not tied to your name, Apple ID, or any personal account) and sends it with each identification request. We use this solely to prevent abuse of the service, such as automated scripts making excessive requests — never for advertising, tracking, or building a profile of you. This identifier and basic request counts are kept only briefly (on the order of hours to a day) and then expire automatically.
Your scan history — the photos and identification results — is stored only locally on your device, using Apple's on-device storage. It is never uploaded back to us after the initial identification call. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it.
Subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We never see or store your payment card details. We only learn whether a purchase entitles your device to unlimited scans.
Coin Scanner AI is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
You can delete any scan from your history at any time inside the app. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.
If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above.
